Barack Obama

President in Disguise

Here's my hope for tomorrow. I won't believe it until McCain concedes.

Working Class Joe

9"x12" Arches hot press, watercolor, Berol colored pencil, Bic Stic

Joe Biden, for the most part, has always been behind labor and has stood for the working middle class. Personally, I thought he would have made a good president and was a great choice for vicepres.

This painting was created as a donation for a raffle for a fundraiser for spinal cord research sponsored by D.O.C.S., CCMA and other San Louis Obispo motorcycle clubs. The painting was completed on the same day that Troy Bayliss won his 3rd World Superbike championship and his 50th overall win. Note, I was pinting during the commercials while watching the race.

Sarah Palin, Queen of Pork

PLEASE TAKE THIS .JPG!!! I'm offering this one up to the creative commons folks. Please virus it out!!! send it for free to whatever site you think could use it. I am truly hoping that in six weeks I will no longer have a use for this image, but it would be nice if you can find a good use for it in the mean time.

My Booth after set-up SDCC 08

This is my second San Diego Comic-con, and I still don't have things quite right. The good news is that I brought just enough stock this time. Last year I brought way too much. I sold about 250 books and 30 prints along with misc. other procucts. I broke even, made a lot of new connections and friends, and had repete customers!!! for me it was a fantastic Convention

Booth Left side SDCC 08

Bundled discounts, Folding Poems, free postcards, buttons,
"The Madness and King George", "Rosemond", "Punnies". and Prints framed and Unframed. Lots of stuff in all price ranges.

Right Side of Booth SDCC

My "Llitle Book of Monsters" and "Little Book of Magical Beings". prints, "Rosemond", and "Punnies". Free candy and bookmarks to draw the crowd - both are always hits. I get a kick out of how people take delight in such simple things. the response to the free stuff is almost worth the price of the booth.

Wide - IF

Wide - IF, originally uploaded by Llyn Hunter, Bobcat Publishing.

Wide

First in my head
When I hear the word,"wide,"
Are the big bodied beasts
That live in the tide.
On the Pacific Coast beaches
As Monarchs they rule.
To bother or tease them
Is the act of a fool.

Literally the first thing that came into my head when I read this weeks word assignment. I've been doing the weekly illustration 4"x6", but had to do this one 9"x12" to give the little polver justistice, and get my relative size relationship in there.

Electricity - IF

This Illustration was done for last week's Illustration Friday Group on Flickr. The weekly one word assignments are so fun to do.

Electricity

Don’t touch that,
You’ll get a shock.
Don’t touch that,
You’ll get a shock.
Don’t touch that,
You’ll get a shock.

AAAAAAAAAAAGH!
I told you not to touch that.

Cream in Your Coffee

Cream in Your Coffee, originally uploaded by Llyn Hunter, Bobcat Publishing.

When I am doing story boards for TV animation, I always like to have a watercolor painting going on the side to help me change perspective while I'm working. I've opened an etsy store page here if you wold like to have this one you can get it for $15.00, what a print usually costs. Long nights and lots of caffeine create funny things in the foam.

Too much coffee and too much caffeine
Will keep you awake so that you can't dream.
And one day you look down to find in the steam,
A tweak in perspective there in the cream.

Ice Cream People

Chromacolor acrylic on special printed post card (the
cone base). 4"x6"

Okay, this is Brandon Reese's fault:
Mister Reese
he posted his ice cream person, and I had to do one too. This is his:
Merv, the soft serve perv.
Chris Goodwin did a great one too:
Ice Cream Sally
So join us in the crazyness and do one for Brian Butler:
Ice Cream People Call for Submissions

Happy Ice Cream People

Happy Ice Cream People
Seemingly benign
With sunny smiling faces
Assuring all is fine;

Inviting you to join them
In a fun time tasty treat
Giving joy and pleasure
To everyone they meet.

Come and fill your tummy
With their sweet and creamy joy,
Exciting and inviting
for every girl and boy.

But be careful of their sweetness,
They're not always kind as that,
Their secret true ambition
is to make you round and fat.

Etsy offerings

I am starting up an ETSY site to sell small originals, my books and prints.  As with all things on the web you want to place yourself in as many places as possible in the hopes of being found.  I will be posting more pictures from my Flickr and Etsy sites in the hopes that you'll find my stuff in some way.  I'm sill amazed at all the time we all spend floating around the web.  Back to work for me.

Animation story boarding and life

Up to my eyeballs in work.  That's the life of a storyboard artist for TV animation.  When I started in this business about 17 years ago, they (production studios) gave you enough time to do the job and a good piece of change for your work.  Now, they keep cutting back the deadlines and send the work off to Canada where it's cheeper to do.  So juggling work load with having any kind of life is difficult.  I still love getting paid to draw all day long, I just wish they give me the deadlines and pay they did ten years ago.

Considering I'm trying to get as much of a footprint out there as possible,  I too am adding to the blogging community.  I love and hate the web, and I'm sure you do to.  If you're reading this,  thanks.  Your time is valuable.
